Seven Ponds Orchards - Our Top Pick
For anyone who's looking for an unforgettable outing, Seven Ponds Orchards is a must-visit destination. This picturesque orchard has it all – from juicy apples to gigantic pumpkins, and even a pick-your-own flower patch. The best part? You'll feel like you're in a movie scene with their rustic barn, pond, and clear blue skies as a backdrop. This orchard is our personal favorite, and we have been coming here for an entire decade! In fact, Joe proposed to me here, so it has a lot of sentimental value. However, we're a little hesitant to share this spot because of its charm, and we don't want it to get too busy.
Milk Pail, Water Mill
Milk Pail is a popular choice for apple-picking lovers with younger children. Situated in the heart of Water Mill on Montauk and Head of Pond Roads, it's a family-owned and operated orchard that has been producing fresh produce for over 40 years. The orchard features dwarf trees, so it's an ideal spot for less adventurous little ones who'd prefer to pick from the comfort of their wagons. They also have a cute little shop on-site where you can try their delicious homemade pies and ice cream.
Hank's Pumpkintown, Water Mill
If you're in search of the most enormous pumpkin around, Hank's Pumpkintown is the place to go. With over 3,500 pumpkin varieties, a 40-acre corn maze, and a variety of kids' activities including rides and a bounce pillow, Hank's has something for everyone. It's a great place for kids of all ages to have fun, run around, and enjoy the autumn weather with their families.
Harbes Family Farm, Mattituck
Harbes Family Farm is a must-visit destination if you're willing to go for a bit of a drive. It's a scenic 45-minute ride from Westhampton Beach or Southampton, but it's well worth the trip. The farm has a variety of apple picking options, but its most famous attraction is its corn maze – the largest in New York State, lasting an hour on average. They also have fun corn cannons, apple cannons, and pumpkin patches perfect for little ones.
Wickham’s Fruit Farm, Cutchogue
Lastly, Wickham's Fruit Farm, situated in the heart of Cutchogue, is another option for apple picking enthusiasts. The farm prides itself on their dedication to utilizing low-impact, eco-friendly farming practices, so you can be sure the produce you pick is both healthy and environmentally friendly. It's a quieter spot compared to some of the other orchards in the area, so it's a perfect place for those who prefer a more low-key experience.
