Labor Day Weekend is synonymous with the much-anticipated Hampton Classic, and this year was another memorable experience crafted with elegance and excitement. Joe and I were thrilled to attend the $70,000 Grand Prix qualifier event, graciously sponsored by Douglas Elliman, adding a touch of luxury and prestige to the occasion.
Walking the Course
One of the standout experiences of the event was the unique opportunity to walk the course alongside the riders. This behind-the-scenes glimpse was facilitated by a knowledgeable guide from the Hampton Classic, who familiarized us with the intricacies of rider preparations and course navigation. As newcomers to the equestrian world, this was an insightful introduction that deepened our appreciation for the sport.
VIP Tent and Tablescapes
After our course walkthrough, we retreated to the exclusive VIP Tent for a delightful lunch. It’s always fascinating to observe how different sponsors express their creativity through tablescapes, each vying to offer a unique dining environment. Douglas Elliman impressed with its discreet yet stylish decor, featuring dark brown leather accents, vibrant white and green florals, and chic horseshoe details—truly a testament to understated elegance.

The day culminated in an exhilarating equestrian competition, where we cheered among a crowd of equestrian enthusiasts and Hampton regulars. Congratulations to McLain Ward for an impressive victory at the event! His skill and poise were a joy to witness, adding a triumphant note to the day’s festivities.
