On Friday, August 15 at 5:30 PM, the fields of Amber Waves Farm in Amagansett will come alive with the sound of music, the smell of sizzling food, and the buzz of friends gathered under the summer sky. This isn’t just any Friday night — it’s the Amber Waves Hoedown, a one-night celebration of community, flavor, and the future of local farming.
Picture this: golden hour light spilling across rows of vegetables, a gentle breeze carrying the scent of fresh herbs, and live music drifting through the air. Guests sip craft cocktails made with farm-grown garnishes, tables overflow with dishes from beloved local chefs, and everyone dances with dusty boots and full hearts.
A Farm with a Purpose
Amber Waves isn’t only a place to pick up your weekly veggies — it’s a 501(c)(3) nonprofit farm on a mission to train the next generation of farmers and connect all of us to where our food comes from. Every ticket to the Hoedown helps them keep that mission thriving, funding programs that:
• Engage 8,500 children in hands-on outdoor learning each year
• Feed 500+ families weekly through pantry donations and farm shares
• Keep the farm gates open to the public 350 days a year
• Graduate 63 new farmers from their training program, with 15 launching their own businesses
The Night’s Vibe
Expect a mix of rustic charm and Hamptons flair — communal tables under string lights, live tunes that get you on your feet, and a joyful crowd that feels more like family than strangers. This is the kind of night where you might arrive with a friend and leave with a whole new circle of them.
