Fall Hamptons Bucket List: 6 Must-Do Activities To Make Your Autumn Memorable

Fall is one of the most colorful seasons out there. Every year when the leaves start to carpet the sidewalks and the pumpkin spice lattes start to come out again, I know that Fall is here. And what better place to enjoy the beauty of Autumn than the Hamptons? There's no denying that the Hamptons in the summer is peak season for sun, sea, and sand, but I promise you, the Hamptons in the Fall is just as magical. From picking sunflowers to sipping pumpkin ale, I’ve rounded up six activities that should be on your Fall Hamptons bucket list.

1. Pick your own sunflowers at Seven Ponds Orchard

If you're a flower enthusiast, Seven Ponds Orchard is your dream destination. It's a family-owned orchard that offers apple and pumpkin picking, but their sunflower field is the highlight. The sunflowers are in bloom from mid-August to mid-September, so make sure you plan your visit in that time frame. It's a great spot to capture some stunning Instagram-worthy photos, and you get to go back home with a beautiful bouquet of blooms as well.

2. The Harvest Party at Wölffer Estate Vineyard

If you're a wine lover, then The Harvest Party at Wölffer Estate Vineyard is the event for you. The annual Harvest Party at the winery is held on the first Saturday of October, and it's always a blast. There's live music, delicious food, a grape stomp competition (yes, you read that right), and of course, lots of wine. It's a perfect way to enjoy an autumn day with your friends and family while sipping some of the highest quality local wines.

3. Hamptons International Film Festival

The Hamptons International Film Festival has been happening for over 25 years now, and it’s a must-visit for all the film buffs out there. The festival runs for five days in October, and they screen top-notch films, documentaries, and shorts from all over the globe. The festival is a great way to connect with other movie enthusiasts, and you might even get to see a few of your favorite actors walking around East Hampton.

4. Have a pumpkin ale at the Montauk Brewing Company

If you're over the age of 21, then you can't leave the Hamptons without trying one of the pumpkin ales at Montauk Brewing Company. Their Pumpkin Ale is brewed with pumpkin puree, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves, and it's absolutely delicious. October is when their pumpkin ale is in full production, so make sure you head to the brewery to taste it before the season ends.

5. Sag Harbor Music Festival

Sag Harbor is a small town in the Hamptons, but it has a big cultural impact. The Sag Harbor Music Festival is held every year in September, and it’s a fantastic event whether you're a music lover or not. It’s a four-day festival that promotes local musicians, and it's amazing to see the streets come alive with live music. It’s an atmosphere that can’t be missed, and it will be sure to put a smile on your face.

6. Cheer on or run The Hamptons Marathon

The Hamptons Marathon is a yearly event that usually takes place in late September, but it's still worth mentioning even though it has already passed this year. Whether you’re running or just going out to support the runners, it’s a fantastic day filled with energy and excitement. The race course is exceptional, too, and takes you through some of the most beautiful parts of the Hamptons.

Autumn in the Hamptons is a magical time of year that simply can't be missed. With these six activities, there's something for everybody. Whether you're in the mood to pick sunflowers, try pumpkin ale, support local musicians, or run a marathon, the Hamptons has got you covered. The only thing left to do is pack your bags and head to this beautiful town to make this Autumn one that you won't forget.
